This English course is part of the project that focuses on developing the rural communities across Palestine Heritage Trail. By giving such courses to the target people, Palestine Heritage Trail expects enhancing the English communication skills for the hosting families for a better hospitality and homestay that these rural families would provide to all the internationals who experience walking the Abraham Path and creates much better encounters.
The first visit was to the Folklore Center hall in Artas, which is located in a very beautiful place in front of Artas Monastery, and in which the English class was taking place. The students varied in age but all of them were young, except one older man (Fadi Sanad)who is also a local guide for the path there in Artas. Most of the students interacted effectively in the class as their teacher (Maysoon) gave them oral assignments to do in our presence. The latter said that they are doing a good job so far, but asked if PHT could provide more tools for them to help in the teaching process.
Afterwards, the team headed to Alrashayda where Abu Ismaeel ,one of the students picked us from a certain point in the desert and took us to Al Khayma Al Badaweyya “The Bedouin Tent” where the English class was taking place.
Inside the tent, the teacher “Khaled”, who was trained by Palestine Heritage Trail to give the English lessons to students, gave the lesson for four participants, Abu Ismaeel, Nisreen (his sister), Farhan (his brother), and his wife.
The students there have very good basics of English and they are working on enhancing their skills and having more vocabularies and better word pronunciation.
