Palestine Heritage Trail Al-Khalil holds its first Home-stay training to the families along the Masar, which is implemented by Rozana Association

As part of the Economic Development across the Fragile Community project which is funded by the World Bank, Palestine Heritage Trail Al-Khalil and the Rozana Association have held a Home-stay training to the families that hosts people along Palestine Heritage Trail, last Thursday, November 20, 2014. The main goal behind this training is enhancing the situation of the home-stays along Palestine Heritage Trail so that it would be considered a unique and one of its kinds trail in the region. The training took place in the Village Council of Awarta, southeast of Nabuls, in which 14 women and a man from different places around Awarta, Aqraba, and Doma have participated.

In the beginning of the day, Palestine Heritage Trail staff previewed a presentation about Palestine Heritage Trail organization and its work and importance as a mean of developing the community tourism in Palestine. A presentation and negotiation of the content of the training by Rawda Khourieya from Jifna, and Nala Awwad from Awarta followed that. Both Rawda and Nala are local women who hosts tourists and who have had experience in home-staying for quite a time.

The material of the training course included topics about welcoming guests and highlighting the Palestinian hospitality and generosity, room service and lodging, hygiene of bedrooms and bathrooms, dining etiquette and eating time, and other important issues to all the host families and other families who are willing to be hosting tourists in the future.

The participants interacted effectively in the course, exchanged their experiences in hosting and shared their concerns and inquiries with each other and with the trainer. They also showed great value and interest to the material of which most of them said they have benefited a lot and have gained different new techniques and ways of hosting.
