Scouting the South of Hebron segment - Palestinian Heritage Trail

As part of the Economic Development across the Fragile Community project which is funded by the World Bank, and based on the purpose of extending the path to the south of Hebron (Al-Burj Village) as the last point the Palestine Heritage Trail hikers can get to during their hike, Palestine Heritage Trail Al-Khalil and the Abraham Path Initiative (API) have planned to launch the final stage of Abraham Path in South Hebron.

Besides the participation of MIAK and API in the scouting process, three local tour guides have also joined in.

There are three phases of the scouting:

The first phase is walking the trail and creating the GPS tracks in 4 days walking, which is the only phase that has been done so far.

In the second phase, the representatives from both organizations will head to South Hebron in order to take notes for the final trail for the purpose of launching it from Hebron to Al-Burj. During 3 days walking and taking notes, we will be meeting with locals and some municipalities for Homestays and other logistics issues.

The third phase would be a discussion with the participants to decide which way (option) to be accredited. Afterward, a Mapping training course will be held up at the end of April.
